Package of Sweetness by "Baker Street by Sabz" (Review)
Hello everyone,
I hope wish and pray that whoever
is reading this post must be having a fantastic day. I always believe that we don’t
actually need a reason to eat something sweet nor we need to wait for a
particular occasion to have a dessert. I have heard many people saying that
desserts have extra calories and they could make you fat. AHMMMM AHMMMM….. I
have a sweet tooth and come on!! You just can’t stop me from having something sweet
by just saying that it could make me fat. After all sugar is a form of energy
and you’ll feel that thing when you’ll have a big piece of chocolate cake, or
your favorite muffins, or yumm pudding and ohhh how could I forget about
cupcakes and cookies. Believe me they are all source of energy. (An innocent
wink :*) Well jokes apart, there’s no doubt in that, something sweet can bring
a smile on everyone’s face and you’ll hardly find such people who’ll say that
we don’t like desserts. If I talk about myself then you can easily guess my
nature by this quote, “I’m not a vegetarian!! I’m a dessertarian” (lolx). And
seriously that’s 100% true. I simply can’t spend a day without having something
sweet. I can skip the main course but not the dessert. :D And in this one year
of blogging I got many food mails and among them the sweet ones were always my favorite.
:D Last month an online bakery named “Baker Street by Sabz” sent me a PR
package which had a cake and some cookies. Before sharing the reviews of both
the products lemme give you a brief introduction of this bakery.
Introduction of “Baker
Street by Sabz”:
“Baker Street by Sabz” is a home
based online bakery. The lady behind this venture is a skilled and talented
cake artist and an expert baker “Saba Omer”, who is UAE born self-taught
artist. In start it was her passion and she started learning from different YouTube
videos and other sources but then with the passage of time she realized that
she can opt it as a profession and this thing compelled her to lay the
foundation of this bakery in January 2018. Now she is spreading love and
happiness in the form of her sweet creations. And to improve her skills, from
time to time, she is also taking different baking and cake decoration classes. From
“Baker Street by Sabz” you can order all type of cakes, both fondant and butter
cream cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes and tarts. She also take customized orders
so you can get other bakery items from her on order. You can find cakes on any
other bakery but the thing which made the cakes of Saba different from others
is her love which she add in every cake along with other ingredients. So her
every cake is special and without any exaggeration her artistic cakes are the
best cakes in town. If you are residing in Lahore then must try her cakes and I’m
sure you’ll love them.
In My Mail:
“Baker Street by Sabz” sent me a
nice basket with two of her signature products (as shown in the picture below).
The things I found in the basket
were:
1. A
Floral Buttercream Cake
2. Choco
Delight Biscuits
Both things were nice and “Baker
Street by Sabz” attached a handmade card with wishes on the basket. That was a
nice gesture tho.
Review of “Floral
Buttercream Cake”:
The first thing which I’m going
to review is the “Floral Buttercream Cake” (as shown in the picture below).
It was truly a beauty. You have
seen many floral cakes but this one was way more gorgeous than others. The moment
I opened the box, I got mesmerized by its beauty. To tell you the truth the
floral design was so beautiful and made with such care and perfection that the
cake was looking like a piece of art rather than an edible item. It was
literally “Too Cute to Eat”. :p
But I’m a very cruel and I cut a
piece to taste it. And to my surprise from inside it had a double colored
sponge with the shade of green and yellow. So it was not just beautiful from
outside but the inner sponge was also lovely looking.
The next thing was “Tasting”. The
moment I took the first bite, I realized that this cake is actually the one
which you can call “Beauty with Taste” :p I’m not kidding because it was really
very much yummy.
The cream was very much fresh and
as Saba told me that she doesn’t use readymade market creams and made
everything at home, so I can easily say that she was telling the truth. In other
ordinary cakes I always feel like the cream has a weird oily smell and I can
hardly finish a single piece of those cakes because they felt so heavy. But this
one was fresh, light and yummy.
Hats off to the baker for maintaining
the perfect balance of ingredients and that’s why both the frosting and the
sponge were amazing and complimenting each other perfectly. The sponge was very
light and well baked. Neither it was too dry nor was it too wet. And hence in
other words you can say that, this beautiful floral cake was a real example of “THE
BEST CAKE”.
You can get a similar one from “Baker
Street by Sabz” in just PKR 3000/- which is quite reasonable for such mouthwatering
and gorgeous artistic cake.
Review of “Choco
Delight Cookies”:
The second item which I got from “Baker
Street by Sabz” was a pack of chocolate biscuits named “Choco Delights” (as
shown in the picture below).
When I received this basket, the biscuits
were fresh and a bit soft. But as I had to click the pictures first and that’s why
I put them in an air tight jar and placed that jar in the fridge. When I taste
them later, then to my surprise they became more crunchy and more yummy. I just
love them man. They were just wow.
Again the thing which I liked
about these biscuits, was the balance of ingredients. In these days most of the
biscuits you’ll find in market (especially the ones with big brand names) are either
“A product with lots of flour” or “A product with lots of sugar”. I’m sure you’ll
agree with me on this. But these were the real “BISCUITS”, I mean the real ones
ok!
They were crunchy and yummy and
in short I loved them. As Saba added them in the basket as “A Token of Love”
and they were not for sale so I can’t give you any idea about their price. But yes
if you wanna order them then you can surely contact “Bakers Street by Sabz”.
My Verdict:
I don’t think so I have to write
some formal lines to tell you that how much I loved these things. But still if
you wanna know my thoughts then I’ll say that without any doubt we Lahoris are
really lucky that we have the best cake artists in our city and “Saba” is definitely
one of them. The perfection, the neatness and the love you’ll find in her
products is a rare thing these days. Also she kept the prices quite low as
compared to other online and commercial bakeries. So for best product quality,
finest service and lowest prices, one can easily give 5 stars to “Baker Street
by Sabz”.
